Eventhough the Inka history tends to begin with the Inca Pachacuteq's or Pachacuti's period ( the one who made the earth spin ) In 1438,the inka empire reached its best time. Pachacutec wasn't only a great warrior he was also a great leader who could reorganize the Inka society and the city of Cusco itself. This development got a little bit better when Wayna Capac rose up as the new Inka in 1493, and finally went down when the Spanish invaded their territory. The Spaniards arrived in Cusco on November 15th, 1532. Pedro Del Barco and Hernando De Soto were the first to set foot on the capital of the great Inca empire.

The urban aspect of Cusco changed a lot after their arrival, they built churches, casonas, and palaces over the main Inka temples, and only the Spanish were allowed to occupy them. And finally an earhquake in 1650 finished with the transformation of this once-great-empire.
